While living in Tokyo Jayson Vemoa decided in order to understand more about Japan.and to help learn the discipline of the culture he immersed himself into the traditional Martial Art of Karate Embarking himself on a journey of 10 years training Kyokushin Karate and attaining Black Belt.
Jayson was inspired to take Kyokushin Karate after being introduced to it by Glaube Feitosa while he was training Glaube for K-1
Jayson took part as opponent no.54 in the 100-man kumite for Arthur Hovhannisyan (karateka) held on 29 March 2009 in Tokyo, Japan.
In September 2010 Jayson successfully passed his 1st Dan Black Belt (Shodan) from HONBU becoming Shihan Narushima's 1st original student at the Ichigeki Academy, Ebisu Dojo to gain Black Belt status.
In April 2011 Jayson became an Assistant Kyokushin Instructor at Ichigeki Academy Ebisu Dojo under the supervision of Shihan Narushima.
From 2010 to 2013 Jayson studied from Honbu Dojo in Ikebukuro, Tokyo in specialized training for Kyokushin Black Belts.
